Transforming children's life chances, in Bradford and nationwide

We’re on a mission to engage parents, educators and school and setting leaders in research-informed practice, making social mobility a reality for all children.

WHAT WE OFFER

Early Years

Based at nationally renowned St. Edmund's Nursery School and Children's Centre, Bradford Birth to 19 Institute for the Early Years elevates children's early life prospects.

We lead the way in setting improvement as Yorkshire and The Humber's pioneering Early Years Stronger Practice Hub, reach out to over half a million families through our innovative 50 Things to Do initiative, and are championing the Early Years workforce through esteemed Higher Education qualifications in Early Childhood & Education.

WHAT WE OFFER

Initial Teacher Training

Since 2015, Bradford Birth to 19 SCITT has supported over 750 new trainees to become qualified teachers with our research-led training programme.

We are proud to be the largest SCITT in Bradford, a testament to our incredible partner schools and dedicated trainees.

WHAT WE OFFER

Apprenticeships

Our apprenticeship courses are delivered by experts working in the education sector – making our teaching and the apprentices’ learning current, relevant and real. Opportunities exist for apprenticeships in early years settings, nursery, primary and secondary schools, and working with children with complex learning needs in special schools.

Wellbeing is at the heart of everything that we do – we support apprentices to look after themselves as well as others and achieve a healthy work-life balance. Our Enrichment Programme provides a personalised pathway, enabling apprentices to follow their passions and interests and love what they do!

WHAT WE OFFER

Educational Strategy

Bradford Birth to 19 Centre for Evidence-Informed Practice is a trusted expert in Bradford's education system.

We host the Education Alliance for Life Chances (EALC),  a cross-sector partnership uniquely placed to help all Bradford’s education settings improve the life chances of children. We are a founding member of the Centre for Applied Education Research, testing and piloting cutting-edge interventions in schools. We're also driving strategic progress in Bradford, including through the Priority Education Investment Area.

  • EVIDENCE INFORMED PRACTICE

The high quality training which was clearly rooted in research and early years pedagogy was excellent and the provision was a joy to behold!

We stole ideas, took photos and returned to school energized and fired up with creative ideas for the team.

  • SCITT

I have had such a brilliant time training with the Bradford Birth to 19 SCITT, and would not hesitate to recommend the course to anyone considering training to teach.

This year has not been without its challenges, but I have felt supported through every step of the journey.
