HOW TO BECOME A TEACHER TRAINING SCHOOL
Any school can be a Teacher Training School
Are you interested in selecting, recruiting and training excellent student teachers in your school? If so, the Bradford Birth to 19 Teaching School Alliance is interested in hearing from you.
Training through our SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) is an approach to initial teacher training in which schools take the lead in recruiting and training new entrants to the profession.
The Bradford Birth to 19 SCITT was formed in 2014, allowing us to recommend successful trainees for Qualified Teacher Status. Our training programme has been written by schools, and is delivered in schools by inspirational practitioners at:
- Bradford Academy
- Brackenhill Primary School
- Chellow Heights Special School
- Copthorne Primary School
- Dixons Allerton Academy
- Eldwick Primary School
- Heaton Primary School
- Horton Grange Primary School
- Lapage Primary School
- Newhall Park Primary School
- Oxenhope Primary School
- Princeville Primary School
- Ryecroft Primary School
- Saltaire Primary School
- Shirley Manor Primary School
- St Edmund’s Nursery School and Children’s Centre
- St John’s Primary School
We are interested in working with schools who are committed to Initial Teacher Training. This year our schools will be working together to create our own training programme, designed and delivered by schools.
We also provide access to the Salaried training route which has replaced the Graduate Teacher Programme.
