VOICE BRADFORD - Getting the City Talking
January 2017 saw the launch of Voice Bradford; a collective of like minded schools and organisations focused on improving oracy across the Bradford Area.
Oracy has improved in a number of key schools in recent years, from these key schools, 6 schools have been identified through a selection process to act as Hub Schools.
The six oracy Hub Schools are:
Eastwood Community School
Eldwick Primary School
Green Lane Primary School
Haworth Primary School
Parkwood Primary School
These Hub Schools will work with a number of partner schools/settings to support the improvement of oracy in those partners. It is envisaged that joint practice development between Hub and Partner schools/settings will last through this and into the next academic year
Partner Schools /Settings
The initial invitation to become a partner school has now closed but a second opportunity may become available later in the year - watch this space.
Schools/ settings that applied to become partner schools are now progressing through the post application phase. An initial screening will ensure schools/settings expressing an interest meet all the criteria for being a partner school/setting.
Hub School Oracy Champions will then visit the applicant schools/settings which will include a learning walk and a conversation with senior leaders.
We expect around 12 schools or settings will then be chosen to be partner schools/settings and will work with an identified hub school over 5 terms.
