Specialist Learning Network

WORKING WITH CHILDREN AGED BIRTH TO 2

This network is here for practitioners and leaders working with our youngest children to come together to share their knowledge, experiences and challenges and to explore how to support children's development in their first few years.

Whether you're a childminder, a practitioner from a PVI setting, or a teacher or HLTA from a maintained nursery, all are welcome. Led jointly by Rebecca Oberg and Nicole Towers, a nursery manager from Calderdale.

"The Statutory Framework For The Early Years Foundation Stage (2024) 3.40 states… ‘At least half of all staff must have received training that specifically addresses the care of babies. Where there is a room for under two-year-olds, the member of staff in charge of that room must, in the judgement of the provider, have suitable experience of working with under twos."
