About Our Apprenticeships
An apprenticeship is a job with training, where a learner gains the technical knowledge, practical experience and wider skills and behaviours that they need for their immediate job and future career. Apprentices gain experience and learn in a variety of ways including formal off-the-job training, and the opportunity to practise new skills in a real work environment.
Why should you upskill your workforce through our apprenticeships?
- Apprentices are staff trained in partnership by us and you, who will work to your high standards.
- We help you upskill and qualify your current team, enabling your valued members of staff to progress in their career and undertake new roles in your school or setting.
- Apprentices gain up-to-date knowledge of current practice and often bring new ideas to the setting. Training up your own apprentice builds loyalty and helps staff retention.

How we support your school or setting
We offer a wide range of apprenticeship courses, valuable to a range of early years and teaching settings who are looking to strengthen their workforce, including private day nurseries, childminders, nursery schools or primary and secondary schools.
Following your expression of interest email, we will then contact you to arrange onboarding procedures to start your employee on their apprenticeship journey.
We can arrange a consultation prior to using our services to introduce ourselves and go through any questions you may have.
Most apprenticeships need GCSE English and Maths grade 4 or grade C & above. If your apprentice does not hold the qualifications, we can support with retakes, using our functional skills platform. They will complete these as an additional course alongside their apprenticeship to achieve their desired qualification.
We embed a triangulation approach, so tutors will visit the setting regularly to conduct reviews, observations of practice and gather any other evidence needed from you, for their apprenticeship portfolio.
We provide free mentor training and will work with you to ensure that you are fully equipped to provide high-quality in-setting mentoring for your apprentices. Settings will be provided with a training and assessment timetable.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: FOR EMPLOYERS
Your Responsibilities as an Employer
- As the employer you must ensure apprentices are working at least 30 hours per week, to be eligible for a full-time apprenticeship.
- Within their working week, apprentices will need to be released for one day a week for face-to-face training. Apprentices must attend this face-to-face training, as it is a part of their statutory 6 hours off-the-job training which they are entitled to.
