The SCITT can support you in accessing an equivalency test which will give you what you need for Maths, English or Science GCSE. We will direct you to our preferred test provider once you have successfully gained a place on the course.
The cost of each test is approximately £100 (including VAT). Fees are payable, in full, upon booking.
We also accept the following science equivalents:
OCR National Level 2 Science
BTEC National Level 2 Science, Applied Science or Medical Science
If all or some of your qualifications were obtained outside of the UK, we can check to see if you need to go through ENIC, who are able to check whether your qualifications are comparable to those from the UK.
If you have any further questions please contact us.
Step 2: Take time to think about the age group you would like to teach
As a primary teacher, you will specialise in either the 3-7 or 5-11 age range.
The eligibility for both is exactly the same, so it’s up to you to choose which ages you’d prefer to teach, based on your existing experiences with children.
If you have an interest in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) you may choose to opt for the 3-7 bracket.
